Initial contract to start ASAP until 30/06/2026 with possible extension paying approx. $130/hr Brisbane CBD location with flexibility to WFH 2 days per week Substantial experience (5 years) in similar Agile Delivery Lead role, ideally within the Queensland Government Our client, Department of Education, are currently seeking an Agile Delivery Lead to join their newly established Information Governance and Digital Enablement (IGDE) directorate, where the successful applicant will play a vital role in shaping their ways of working and uplifting information and data governance practices. This is a two-year program of work that will be delivered by three workstreams. The Delivery Lead will be part of the Targeted Business Uplift team. They are adopting a product-based approach, and a three-month planning and delivery cadence. They are adopting Agile and Lean methodologies with governance-by-design principles to guide their work. The Targeted Business Uplift team includes highly experienced Business Analysts. It is supported by program resources including an Organisational Change Manager, a Program Support Officer, and a Program Manager. We use tools including Jira, Power BI, and SharePoint. The Delivery Lead of the Targeted Business Uplift team will be accountable for the team delivering a prioritised backlog of work, as agreed for each 3-monthly program increment. To succeed in this, they will: Build strong working relationships with business stakeholders, and ensure business priorities are clearly understood, agreed, and delivered, including information and data governance needs. Enable the team to determine the best approach to delivering each item, balancing speed, quality, governance obligations, and stakeholder needs. Help the team and the customer to embed changes into business-as-usual operations. Facilitate the team’s Agile ceremonies and support the team to develop and mature Agile ways of working. Facilitate quarterly planning, review, and reset cycles, ensuring visibility of progress and alignment with business priorities. The qualifications and experience that will be considered when shortlisting candidates include: Substantial experience (5 years) in similar leadership roles, ideally within the Queensland Government. Proven capability to partner with business areas to plan and deliver organisational change. Demonstrated experience uplifting information and data governance practices Effective communication skills, including the ability to express complex ideas in plain English and prepare clear, accurate documentation. The candidate’s statement of suitability will be assessed as a demonstration of written communication capability. Agile experience (essential), and Scrum Master certification (desirable).
